Class Policies
Payment
Payment for a class is due by time of registration and can be made online by credit card (preferred) or by mailing a check (no cash please). Bounced checks will result in an additional fee of $25. Tuition does not cover books or materials, with the exception of some digital content provided by the instructors during class.
Early bird discount
For some classes and events, a 10% early bird discount will be offered for members who register and pay before a given date.
Age Requirement
All adult classes are for age 18 and up. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Director.
Missed classes
Students should notify the instructor in advance, if possible, if they will miss a class. Missed classes are non-refundable; however, recordings of online classes can be made available on request. Students are encouraged to contact their teachers via email to obtain missed work or assignments.
Cancellations
The Alliance Française de Tucson reserves the right to cancel courses, adjust curriculum, or change teachers at any time during the session. Minimum enrollment is 3 students for 1-hour classes, 4 students for 1.5-hour classes, and 6 students for workshops. If you are registered in a class or a workshop that is cancelled, you will be notified by email and tuition will be refunded.
Withdrawal Policy
No refunds can be made in case of withdrawal from a group class or a workshop after the end of early bird registration (usually one week before opening). In case of withdrawal before the end of early bird registration, the request by email at alliancefrancaisetucson@gmail.com. Please state the course name and the reason for cancellation. Exams, books, and memberships are non-refundable. Exceptional circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Private class cancellation policy
If you need to cancel a lesson, you must contact your teacher directly at least 24 hours in advance or you will be charged for a one-hour lesson. Private course tuition is non-refundable. It expires one year from the date of purchase.
Membership
Members enjoy a discount on tuition for classes or events at the AFT.
Books
Course materials in most cases are digital and will be provided in class by the instructor. Books are compulsory for some classes and discussions, in which case students will be responsible for purchasing their own books. Tuition costs do not include textbooks, workbooks, or books.
