How to get your own Culturethèque account
Step 1
Using your preferred web browser access the Culturethèque site using the address:
www.culturetheque.com/en
This will open the site in English.
Note that the adjacent image shows the site in French.

Step 2 - optional
If the site opened in French and you want to switch to English, perform this step.
Click on the language picker as shown in the image on the right and choose EN from the dropdown that appears.

Step 3
If you are viewing the page in English click on the Login link.
If you are viewing the page in French click on the Connexion link.
Whether you are viewing in English or French the links are in the same place - the upper right corner of the page.

Step 4
Since you want to create your account look for the Create an Account link towards the bottom of the page. Click on it.

Step 5
Fill in the fields on the form with your information. In case your web browser rendered the form in French, as seen in this image, the field labels in English, in order of appearance are:
First name
Last name
Email address
Password
Confirm Password
Country of Residence
I accept the terms and conditions of use
Note that all fields are required.

Step 6
This screenshot shows the completed form prior to submission.
Note that an additional field appears after selecting your country of residence. In this field you must choose the name of the Alliance in which you are a member. In this case Alliance Française de Tucson.
This is a vital step to get correct in order to get your account validated for long term usage.
To submit your information click on the Valider or Submit link at the bottom of the page.

Step 7
You will receive an email message at the email address you submitted in the previous step.
Click on the link text in the email message to acknowledge and validate your email address.

Step 8
After validating your email address you will be able to login to Culturethèque.
The site will walk you through the steps of creating your own personal interest profile to identify the types of media and subjects that interest you.
This first question asks you to choose your learning profile.
Go to the next step to see the choices.

Step 9
There are four choices. In order of the list they are:

Learner of French as a foreign language
-
Student
-
Private individual
-
Professor/Teacher
In the screenshot this registrant chose Learner of French as a foreign language.
Press the Next or Suivant button/link to move to the next question.

Step 10
On this form you can choose up to 5 themes that interest you.
To move to the next screen press Next or Suivant.

Step 11
On this form you can choose up to 3 types of media formats that you want to look at.
To move to the next screen press Register or Enregistrer.

Step 12
This screen shows the choices that you made while setting up your profile. You can come back to this screen at any time to change your profile preferences. Just click on the My profile or Mon profil link towards the upper right corner of the page.

Step 13
After you complete your registration you will receive a confirmation email message like the one shown here.
Note that it indicates your account is only a temporary or trial account that ends 30 days after the day you register.
To get your account validity extended you need to send email to alliancefrancaisetucson@gmail.com to request that your membership be validated.
